Rabbi Yisrael Shimon Kastelnitz related a rule established by the Bat Ayin in his study hall: anyone who talked during prayer had to bring wine to the study hall as a penalty.
Even a Whispered Conversation
It is told that two people spoke quietly after the silent Amidah. At the end of the service, the Bat Ayin asked them to comply with the rule. They wondered how he had noticed their speech while he was praying. The story describes his attentiveness to the sanctity of the gathering and his insistence on uninterrupted, respectful prayer.
